2010-2011 School Registration

Registration for new students will be held on
Monday, February 22nd, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM
in the Parish Center.

The following documents are needed:

Birth Certificate
Baptismal Certificate
Social Security Card
Health Record
Current Report Card (for students
in Kindergarten through 8th grade)


Dear Parishioners and Parents of
St. Edward the Confessor School:

As you know, Sr. Mary de Lourdes Charbonnet, S.L.W. has served as principal since the founding of
St. Edward the Confessor School in 1965. More than anyone else she is responsible for the spiritual and academic success of the school. Under her leadership our school has consistently taken its place among the very best Catholic Elementary Schools in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She has been recognized by the NCEA as a Regional Distinguished Principal and as a National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals. St. Edward the Confessor School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The U.S. Department of Education recognized St. Edward the Confessor School as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in the year 2000. In 2003 our school was designated as one of the first to be honored under the new No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon Schools Program.

All of these accomplishments, and so many more, are the result of Sister's love, dedication, expertise, and leadership. With immense gratitude for all that she has meant to the St. Edward the Confessor Parish and School community, I announce to you today that
Sr. Mary de Lourdes will retire as principal at the end of this current school year in May of 2010.

The search process to find a new principal will begin in January of 2010. A new principal will be hired and will begin service with the 2010-2011 school year. I want to assure you that an extensive search will be conducted and every effort will be made to hire a principal who will ensure that the high standards and tradition of excellence will continue at
St. Edward the Confessor School.

Let us lift up Sr. Mary de Lourdes in prayer as she enters a new chapter in her life. Also, let us pray that through the intercession of St. Edward the Confessor, the Lord will continue to bless and guide our parish and school community.

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for calling us to be Your people. Pour down Your grace and mercy upon our parish. Send Your Spirit to renew us and open our hearts to Your will. Bring us together; make us one family in You.

Lord Jesus, we offer and consecrate our beloved parish to Your Sacred Heart, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Mother.


We, the people of St. Edward the Confessor Parish, acknowledge that You and Your Church are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Forgive us our sins and help us to forgive others. We reject the empty promises of the world. Lord, it is You we choose to serve.

We pray for our priests, deacons, and religious; for our school and parish ministries; for our families, our youth, the sick, the lonely and the elderly. We pray for the needs of all our parishioners and for our own special intentions. (pause)

Jesus, meek and humble of Heart, make our hearts like Yours!
