ART: due the week of September 6: Many examples of literature have been turned into movies and comic strip or graphic novels. Create a comic character that comes from one of your favorite stories or books. Make the figure as large as the paper and pay attention to your use of color. Use crayons or markers.

School Pictures for Grades 1  8 on Thursday, September 9 starting at 8:30 a.m.
Black & Gold Day
In support of our New Orleans Saints 2010 season opener, the students may bring a Saints T-shirt or jersey to wear over their school uniform after pictures are taken on Thursday, September 9th. Black and gold socks (same color and same design on each foot), pins, & hair ribbons(uniform ribbons for pictures) can also be worn. T-Shirts or jerseys may not have any questionable slogans or writing on them.

KINDERGARTEN  September 7-10, 2010

TUESDAY
Religion: Please review Grace before Meals Prayer. Have your child say the prayer to
you.
Handwriting: Write FIRST name 5 times on each line. Please have your child
work on the base line(red) with the tops of the letters either touching the
upper line(blue) or the midline(broken line).

WEDNESDAY
Religion: Continue with the Grace Before Meals.
Math: Review counting 1  10. Look for number recognition. Complete p. 19 &
20.

THURSDAY
Religion: Please work on the Sign of the Cross. This may seem easy, but many of the
students cross the opposite way.
Reading: Review I and can and new words we and the. Complete p. 43 and
p. 44, which practices the Mm sound.
Social Living: Start talking about our state(Louisiana) with your child. We will learn
our state symbols.

Note to Parents: Home-School Connection pages are for parents to read. They are not to be returned as part of your childs homework. All homework is to be returned in your childs folder on Friday mornings(still stapled together).
