Steddy.org Website Administrator Policies

As a Website Administrator, you will have the ability to supply and maintain content on the St. Edward the Confessor Parish website. It will be your responsibility to insure that the content you supply and/or maintain is appropriate, represents our Parish in a positive manner, and does not violate any of the following parish policies.

Appropriateness of Content

The content that you contribute to steddy.org (by logging in to the Website Administration Tool) will automatically appear on www.steddy.org, which is the St. Edward the Confessor Parish official website. The content you provide will be viewable by Catholic members of the Parish, including children, as well as outsiders and non-Catholics; therefore, inappropriate or controversial content is not allowed.
  • Do not supply any information that is political in nature.
  • Do not supply information that is derogatory, angry, critical, or negative in nature.
  • Do not supply any personal information about people such as phone numbers, addresses, and e-mail addresses without their permission and explicit acknowledgement that the information will be publicly posted on the Internet. Do not post lists of personal information such as membership rosters, member contact information, etc.
  • Do not post any illegal content or violate any copyright laws. All content must be original St. Edward content or appropriately referenced on the website.
  • Do not post information from unreliable or unverifiable sources such as junk mail content, unverifiable security and virus warnings, urban legends, etc.
  • Do not post advertisements or solicitations other than those approved by the Parish Office for fundraising purposes.

Children in Photographs

Photographs that include children in them must meet the strict requirements and guild lines set by the Parish Office and must be approved before being uploaded.
It is the parish’s goal to protect the children of our community from kidnappings and other malicious, criminal or inappropriate acts; therefore, extreme caution must be taken to eliminate the possibility of directly or indirectly identifying children through website photographs. Do not supply “identifying information” about children such as names, addresses, phone numbers, or any information that can be combined with other information to identify a child in a photograph.

Account Security

Maintaining security for this website is important for protecting the website’s content, and therefore you must not allow anyone to use your Website Administrator Account. All web site content must be provided by an authorized Website Administrator who has been formally approved through the Parish Office.

Violations

Violating any of these policies will result in your administrator privileges being revoked.
